2018 JANUARY THIS DIRECTORY HAS A COLLECTION OF DOCS, SCHEMATICS, UPDATES ETC AROUND THE GREG HANKS DESIGN BA-660 MIC PREAMP LIMITER. THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. 4 JAN DUMPING ROUGHLY ORGANIZED SCANS AND DOCS HERE - WILL BE GOING THROUGH THESE TO GET UNIFORM DATE AND REVISION CODING IN TO DOC TITLES GENERAL COMMENT: the BA660 exists in three or four major revisions - this may need to be updated but it seems to be like this rev 1000 = 1990's BA660 production w PCMCIA card sticking out the back rev 1001 = 2011 BA660 reboot with no PCMCIA card rev 1002 = 2013 BA660 with updates consolidated rev 1003 = 2015-2016 BA-AD implementations there are no "pure" revisions - all this was done on the fly - the design never froze - it should be assumed that every BA660 has something unique about it and if a unit went back to Greg he would implement whatever updates would bring a unit up to his current design thought - but that was a moving target. There will be some duplication in this documentation. Greg worked off of about a dozen different sets of schematics, more if you count the original dbx 1650T prototypes that formed the basis of the BA660, and he made various little annotations as he went along updating customer units. There existed an excel spreadsheet that Greg used to note what each individual unit ever made had in the way of starting points in production and then whatever updates were applied if/when a unit came in for service/update. This would be a very useful thing to have but so far no one has been able to find it. WHAT IS HERE?: GHD_BA660_schematics_pages_evolution: has individual schematics pages - these will be re-named and better organized as time permits GHD_BA660_schematics_sets: has sets of schematics either scanned or as Greg sent them electronically - there are various little notes and scribbles GHD_BA660_updates-changes: has several docs describing various updates GHD_BA660_user_operations_manuals: has a scan of the original PCMCIA version user manual and we'll get a scan of more recent user manuals in there when time permits GHD_BA660_various_docs: this has some cool stuff including a doc describing a floating blob of circuitry used to control release times in the BA-AD units GHD_BA660_videos_photos: Greg made a number of videos demonstrating and describing the BA-660 GregHanksDesigns_archived_site_pulls: within days of Greg's passing his website was pulled down and with it went a trove of information. This directory has some things retrieved from the Wayback Machine - none of this has been sorted but at some point some of the site can be reconstructed or the information pulled and formatted in to useful docs.
